Terms of service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. The service
Metiq is a software service for Indian chartered accountancy (CA) and company secretarial (CS) firms. It maintains compliance calendars, sends and receives WhatsApp messages with a firm’s clients, processes documents the firm’s clients send, prepares workpapers and portal-ready files for supported forms, and provides research and client-status assistants. In the current release, your firm reviews and submits filings on government portals; Metiq does not submit filings on your behalf.
2. Accounts and roles
Access is per firm. The firm’s account holder controls who is invited and at what role (partner, staff or viewer). You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for activity under your firm’s account. Tell us promptly at support@metiq.in if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Your responsibilities
- Review every workpaper, packet and figure before filing. Statutory responsibility for a filing stays with the firm and the client, as it does today.
- Make sure client records, filing profiles and registered WhatsApp numbers you enter are accurate and that you are entitled to use them for this purpose.
- Use the service lawfully and only for your firm’s own clients. Do not use it to send spam or unsolicited marketing.
- Meet your deadlines even if a message, reminder or assistant answer is delayed or unavailable — treat the service as an aid to your process, not a substitute for it.
4. Client data and documents
When your clients send documents and messages through the service, we process them on your firm’s instructions so the service can work: classifying and reading documents, maintaining filing checklists, and answering status questions from your live records. We do not use one firm’s data for another firm, and we do not sell personal data. Our privacy policy explains this in more detail.
5. WhatsApp and third-party services
Messaging runs over WhatsApp, a service operated by Meta. Delivery depends on WhatsApp’s platform, the recipient’s number being reachable, and applicable WhatsApp policies. We log every send and reply so your team can see exactly what happened, but we cannot guarantee that WhatsApp will deliver any particular message.
6. Plans, fees and taxes
Plans, limits and prices are as published on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Prices exclude GST; GST at 18% is added on the invoice. When a plan limit is reached, activity on that meter pauses until the next cycle or a plan change. When a trial ends without a paid plan, the workspace becomes read-only. Cancellations and refunds follow our refund policy.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and accurate, and we publish rule updates as notifications change deadlines. The service is provided “as is” for a pre-launch product: features, coverage and limits may change, and we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect a paid plan.
8. Intellectual property
The Metiq software, rule packs and website belong to us. Your firm’s data, your clients’ documents, and the workpapers produced from them belong to you and your clients.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for penalties or losses that arise from a filing your firm reviewed and submitted, or from data your firm or your clients provided.
10. Ending the service
You may cancel as described in the refund policy. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practical. On termination we will make your firm’s records available for export for a reasonable period, after which they may be deleted.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the courts of competent jurisdiction in India.
